The intended version range is broader than the exact combinations tested in a real application. The result below shows both.

What every conversion needs.

Your destination and renderer

Install and license the destination renderer where required. The Oruva connector must match the app and OS. Close the destination before installing or updating its connector.

The scene and its assets

A .max file or supported archive with companion textures. V-Ray and Corona are the main source material families. Source year alone is not a compatibility guarantee.

Room to work

Allow disk space for extracted assets, the scene and optional AI downloads. Available memory and scene complexity determine practical limits; a GPU is not required for basic library use.

3ds Max is not required for conversion to the destinations above. Opening the original scene in 3ds Max itself requires an installed, compatible version and its source plugins. There is no Linux installer.

What can vary between renderers.

Oruva rebuilds supported materials for the destination. Some procedural, layered, hair, proxy or environment features need approximations; selected workflows may bake part of a material.

Read the import report and review the surfaces that matter. A successful import does not promise identical lighting, colour management or pixels across renderers.

Keep the original package and try a representative asset before committing a large collection. The first-conversion guide explains how to inspect the graph, render and save/reopen.
