BEFORE YOU INSTALL

A few things.
Then you’re in.

Start with Oruva. Connect your 3D app and renderer when you’re ready to send a model.

Your setup, in three partsNo 3ds Max needed for conversion.

    01 THE LIBRARY

    Start with Oruva.

Your image library, search, and creative tools live here. Install Oruva on your computer to get started.

    System requirements

Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit: 8 GB RAM minimum, 16 GB for local AI; 1 GB of disk for the app. An NVIDIA graphics card makes AI faster but is not required (full requirements). The Mac version is coming very soon. There is no Linux package.

On Windows, choose where to install Oruva. The installer includes the components needed to open model archives.

    02 YOUR 3D APP

    Add its connector.

Install the Oruva connector for your destination app. Close that app while its connector installs or updates.

    Apps and connectors

Connect Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya, Houdini, SketchUp, or 3ds Max 2027. Keep the destination app installed too.

Any installed 3ds Max can open the extracted .max scene without a connector. To merge into an open scene or build with AI, use 3ds Max 2027 with its Oruva connector.

    03 YOUR MATERIALS

    Bring your renderer.

Install the renderer you plan to use. Oruva checks what’s available before you send a model.

    All renderers & compatibility
    • V-Ray
    • Redshift
    • Corona
    • Arnold
    • Octane
    • Cycles
    • Eevee
    • Karma
    • Thea
    • Enscape

Native renderer materials need the selected renderer. Your destination app, its Oruva connector, and that renderer must be installed.

Available renderers depend on your destination app. Oruva disables incompatible targets before a conversion starts.

Add AI when you want it.

Optional components install inside Oruva after a hardware and storage check. Processing stays on your CPU or supported GPU.

Bring your model sources.

The Scene Generator accepts MAX scenes and .zip, .7z, .rar, or .iso packages. Up to 3 GiB of selected .max files per assembled scene.

Redshift in Maya and Houdini is in beta: it works and is supported, with less real-world testing than the other targets. Approximations are reported as usual.

Houdini 22 is not supported yet. SketchUp renderer support depends on the year: SketchUp 2026 supports V-Ray 7, Thea 4, and Enscape 4.19. Enscape is Windows-only.

Object names and hierarchy stay intact. Any necessary material approximation is reported.

3ds Max opens the .max scene natively, or merges it into an open 3ds Max 2027 through its Oruva connector — no renderer translation needed.
