Create a new library

A library keeps your pictures, their 3D models and your boards together.

What a library is

A library is where Oruva keeps its catalog, your pictures’ thumbnails, and the connection between each picture and its 3D model. You choose where it lives, and you can keep several: one per client, project or style. Oruva’s first-run setup makes your first library; after that, make more from the library menu.

Steps

  1. Open the library switcher at the top of the sidebar and choose New library. (Or choose Menu → Library → Create Library….)
  2. Give it a name you recognise. The library you have open stays exactly as it is.
  3. Keep the suggested location, or choose Change… and pick a drive with enough free space for your pictures.
  4. Choose An empty library, or Bring in your collection to add folders straight away, then choose Create library.
Tip. Start with a small folder of representative assets. Once that looks right, add the larger collection.

Switch between libraries from the same switcher, or choose Manage… there to open, merge, reveal or remove them.
