Add a folder of pictures and models

Point Oruva at your collection. It shows what it found and asks only what needs a decision.

Before you start

You can add pictures, 3D models, or a mix of both, from one folder or several. Choose Add Assets → Add folders… or Add files…, or drop files and folders into the library.

Where should the pictures live?

  • Copy into the library makes a separate copy of each picture inside your library, so it is self-contained. Keep enough disk space for both the originals and the copies.
  • Keep in their folders uses the pictures where they already live and saves disk space. Keep that drive and its paths available; moving, renaming or deleting the originals breaks their connection.

Should new pictures follow?

When you add a folder, Oruva then asks whether later changes should come in too, whichever storage you chose: Import once adds the folder as it is now; Keep this folder in sync brings in new pictures from it automatically. Choose Review collection to continue.

Found, Check and the rest

Oruva shows how many pictures, models and other files it found, and which pictures it found a model for. Nothing is added until the last step. Close calls come to Check, where you pick the model that belongs to each picture (keys 1–3 work too). If some pictures have no model, or other files were found, a short step asks what to do with them. Models without pictures have their own step, where you can choose preview pictures from inside their archives. Steps with nothing to decide are skipped. The last step has Add to library.

The pictures land at the top of your grid as they come in, and a card at the bottom shows the ones being added. When it finishes, the card says how many were added and connected to their models. If the import stopped before the end, Continue adds the rest, and Review details explains anything that was skipped. Reopen the last result any time this session from Add Assets → Last import.

Your files stay yours. Importing and connecting never rename or move your originals. Model files can be ZIP, RAR, 7Z or MAX.
